The tub is inflatable with a handheld pump and takes approximately 5 mins to inflate to 10PSI. Next, begin filling the tub making sure the valves are closed. While the tub is being filled with water, attach the two hoses that connect the chiller to the tub. Once the tub is filled to the fill line, you can begin chilling the water. Open the valves THEN turn the chiller on. The chiller goes through a prep phase to get rid of air in the lines and then it begins chilling the water to the temperature you set it at. Overall this process will take about 30 mins. The water will cool at a rate of 10°F per hour depending on ambient temperature, humidity, and amount of sunlight. If you’re cooling water that is 70°F, this means that the water can be below 40°F in about 3 hours.

Yes, WAVE can be used indoors or outdoors. If used outdoors, the chiller should remain covered from sun and rain and only be kept outside as long as the temperature doesn’t drop below 35°F.

Yes, many people find that their balcony is the perfect place for their WAVE cold plunge. First, be sure to check with your building’s management and consult the blueprints to verify that the balcony can hold the amount of weight. Balconies are typically rated for 50-100 lbs per square foot. Depending on your building and how they built the balconies, your balcony’s square footage, and what else you have on the balcony, your answer will vary. The WAVE tub, filled to the fill-line with water, and the chiller weighs approximately 800 lbs.

A standard 120 V, 20 amp plug is needed to plug the chiller into power.

No, you just need to have a water source to fill the tub, such as a long hose from a sink or faucet, as well as a drain that is within hose-distance such as a shower, sink, or the outdoors.

The built-in filtration and ozone sanitization do most of the maintenance for you. In addition to this, you can use a handheld skimmer to skim your cold plunge before and/or after use. Depending on use, the set temperature, and if you rinse yourself off before use, the timeline for replacing your water may vary. With average use, 90 days seems to be a good time to replace the water in your tub. Use this opportunity to wipe down the inside of the tub with a microfiber cloth and mild soap. The filter in the chiller should be rinsed on average, weekly and replaced on average monthly. Use the flow rate, and color of the filter to determine if it’s rinsable or ready for replacement. Optional, additional replacement filters are available for purchase.

Built-in ozone and 20 micron filtration keep the water clean and sanitized for 3-6 months if you perform required maintenance and cleanliness practices such as rinsing off before use, skimming, making sure you run the ozone sufficiently, and rinsing the filters as needed. With heavy use or to extend the life of the water even more, food-grade hydrogen peroxide can be used as an additional sanitizer.

Depending on the amount of use and how well it is maintained, water should be changed after 3-6 months of use. Cloudy water or a musty smell are indicators that the water is due to be replaced.

Turn the chiller off, disconnect the “water in” hose from the tub, and direct that to where you need to drain or use a long enough attachment hose to get the water to the drain. Disconnect the “water out” hose from the tub and put it over the side of the tub into the tub to the bottom so that it can suck up all the water. Turn the chiller back on and let it run as a pump. Be sure to watch it at the end so that the chiller doesn’t suck up air as this can damage the chiller.

The tub is made of military-grade, drop-stitch technology which is designed to be strong and have very little air leakage. However, you can use the hand pump provided to top off the air in your tub, even while it is full of water. This could depend on your local weather conditions and use of the tub.

WAVE cold plunges will be shipping in January 2024. Pre-orders are open and as soon as the product launches in January they will be shipped out to those who placed a pre-order.

The product is shipped in three boxes, one with the chiller and hoses, the second with the tub, lids, and backpack, and the third with accessories such as the phone mount, vacuum, screw on filter, oil sponge, and replacement chiller filters. Ground shipping through UPS or FedEx is standard.
